Charnwood W335 Bench Morticer 1" Capacity
An impressive new bench top morticer boasting the capacity anf features of an industrial machine. A quiet 3/4hp induction motor allows a chisel capacity of up to 1" in softwood, 5/8" in hardwood. The well proven twin pillar design gives a smooth plunge action controlled by a gas filled spring. The main operating handle is adjustable so that the most comfortable working position can always be maintained. There are 12 locking positions located at 30 degree intervals. The base of the machine is all cast iron construction with a table that moves in both X and Y axis. Table adjustment is all controlled through a single handwheel at the front. A quick action work clamp completes the table set up.
For repeat production work the machine has a 2 position mortice depth stop, A length stop which can be used left or right side, table traverse stops, and a measuring scale for both X and Y axis.
On top of the pillars is a handy tool rack with spaces to keep the service tools and spare chisels.
A unique feature on Charnwood moricers is the inclusion of a dust extraction kit. The adjustable mouth sits ontop of the work piece taking away dust and chips, keeping pencil lines clearly visible. The extraction kit has a 100mm outlet.
Supplied with 4 chisel bushes for using both foreign 3/4" and 1.1/8" or British 13/16" and 1.3/16" chisels, NVR switch, 1/2" chisel (from craft range), cable and plug.
We offer two types of floorstand for this machine;
- The more basic splayed legs type is very strong and offers more stability when working with longer/heavier timber.
- The cabinet base has a hinged door with a shelf inside and is handy for storing spare chisels and service tools.
We also offer two ranges of chisels. The craft range, MCC type, are low cost and completely adequate for occasional users. The trade range, MCT type, are made to a greater degree of precision and from a harder material and therefore give a longer life. We recommend these for all professional or trade users.
