Will do centered dowelling and will also dowel boards of different thicknesses to one reference face - the assembly is perfectly flat on one side with all thickness variations on the other (saves time planing and scraping).
Using a dial, each micrometer clamp head can be set from 1/4' (6mm) to 1/2' (13mm) from the center line for work 1/2' to 1' thick. Setting is positive and accurate to a few thousands of an inch.
Movable clamp heads will grip work as small as 1/2' x 1-3/8'.
Set jig for centered dowelling with boards of constant thickness. With boards of uneven thickness, heads are set for a constant set back from the reference face.
Chain drill dowel holes using the tapered pin to register off the last hole drilled.
Movable bush carrier includes three hardened steel bushings: 1/4', 8mm (5/16'), and 3/8'. (See Veritas? 32 Cabinetmaking System for other available sizes.)
All aluminum parts anodized black, except the red bush carrier. Register pins and clamping fittings are turned brass.
