Low Angle Spokeshave

A modern version of a traditional wooden spokeshave, with the same low cutting angle (20? basic bevel with a 25? micro-bevel) but substantially simplified cutting depth adjustment. The toe piece, rather than the blade, adjusts to control the depth of cut.
The toe piece has two orientations. One is suited to convex and flat work. Flipped 180?, it is set for concave work.

The blade is fixed by two machine screws with specially shaped heads that wedge it in position when the knurled knobs are tightened.

The mouth opening is controlled by moving the blade either forward or backward.
The blade, made of A2 tool steel, is 1/8' thick by 2' wide.
Weighs just over 6 oz.
Powder-coated cast aluminum body with solid brass fittings.
