Minix Oak Dowels X 100

The MINI X is ideal for use when making drawer boxes in a desk or chest, decorative boxes with exotic woods, birdhouses, picture frames & many more smaller projects.

The MINI X features the same patented step design as the other 1X and 2X Miller Dowels. The first section acts like a clamp to securely hold the first piece of wood to the second. The second section gives the joint shear strength while the remaining sectiosn bond with the anchor piece to form a secure joint. The MINI X is as fast and easy to sue as nails or screws, but you do not need to use plugs to cover the countersunk screw or nail.

The MINI X dowel is inserted 2/3rds of the way by hand before it ever encounters any resistance. This gives it better holding strength and makes it easier to tap in. The ribbed sections of the MINI X dowel provide several advantages to glue adhesion. The sections are not tapered so the glue surface remains intact through the entire length as they engage. Due to the ribs being horizontal, glue can't migrate onto the surace, nor is the glue skimmed off at the top or forced down to the bottom of the hole. Additionally the ribbed sections provide relief from hydraulic pressure, preventing blowout of joint.
