Pin Router Arm

J3701

Reverses conventional pin routing with the guide pin in the overhead arm and the router mounted under a table for safer operation and for use in a standard router table. Conventional pin routers use a dedicated router suspended from an overhead arm, leaving the rotating bit exposed with a guide pin mounted in the table.
Stationary pin guides a template mounted to the workpiece to be routed. Since the rotating bit does not come into contact with the template, templates stay accurate and can be used over and over.
Simplifies the process of making templates, inlaying work, and making relief or incised signs.
Arm is a single (and solid) 7-1/2 lb aluminum casting to ensure stiffness. Mounted on the corner of a router table, the arm provides for a full 12' throat clearance and routing to the center of a 24' workpiece.
Includes integral clamps for repeatedly accurate and easy mounting and dismounting from the Veritas Router Table.
Can be mounted on shop-made router tables by replacing the clamps with machine screws that pass through the table.
Included alignment pin is used to guarantee concentricity between the router bit and the guide pins.
Guide pin mechanism is spring loaded and adjustable for pin height.
3/8', 1/2' and 3/4' diameter aluminum guide pins are included and are easily switched by loosening one set screw.
An optional signmaking guide pin is available. One end is 1/4' in diameter for inlay work and the other end is pointed and used as a stylus for letter tracing.
Using with the Veritas Bit Jack allows preset cutting depths to reduce overall set-up time. A foot pedal with the bit jack provides the convenience of plunging and retracting the bit while leaving both hands available.
