Makes jointing easy.
Use a straight bit in the router, set it for 0.010' to 0.060' of cut (easily done with the fence micro-adjust), and then install the matching thickness of shims behind the outfeed sub-fence.
Shims are color coded for thickness.
Micro-adjust substitutes for an adjustable infeed table and shims provide an adjustable outfeed.
Plastic shims are 0.010', 0.020' and 0.030' thick and 12-3/4' long.
