Shelf Drilling Jig

J0303

Eliminates the time-consuming layout work associated with installing shelf supports.
Set the jig's rails at the desired inset from the edge, fix them in position with the thumbscrews on the clamping rods, and then drill.
Jig guarantees holes will be exactly opposite each other and at equally spaced intervals.
Twin-register pins have tapered tips to snugly fit drilled holes 3/16' to 3/8' (5mm to 10mm). Positioned in the rails, they fit into holes you have already drilled, ensuring that the holes will continue to be accurately spaced as the jig is moved down a board. Accurately chain drill an entire upright with no need for detailed measuring.
24' rails each have 20 holes drilled at 1' intervals. Space for chip clearance is provided to allow for easy withdrawal of your bit and to prevent jamming or burning. Bush carrier registers perfectly in each hole and is easily moved along the rails.
Holes are drilled at exactly 90? because the drill bushings are 13/16' long.
Ten hole sizes can be drilled with included hardened bushings (for all the shelf supports currently sold in North America). A soft (unhardened) bushing (drill to size) is included for custom applications.
Regular-length clamp rods are included for material up to 12' wide. Long rods are available for material up to 24' wide, and extra-long rods for work up to 36' wide.
7mm sleeve-setting punch with hardwood handle included to set the most common European support/sleeve combinations without damaging the sleeve or the work.
Eleven bushings included: sizes 5, 6, 6.75 (17/64'), 7, 7.5, 8 (5/16') and 9mm, 7/32', 1/4', 3/8', and a soft bushing.
All aluminum parts anodized black, except the red bush carrier. Steel rods are ferro-blacked. Register pins, fixing and clamping knobs are turned brass with knurled heads.
